Annual awards celebrate healthcare organizations across the country for their excellence in safety, employee engagement, clinical quality, nursing excellence, and experience
Press Ganey, the leading provider of experience measurement, data analytics and AI-powered insights to health systems and health plans, today announced the recipients of the 2025 Press Ganey Human Experience Awards.
These prestigious awards recognize organizations that are going above and beyond, translating data, insight, and empathy into patterns and stories that fuel action for growth. The end result? Delivering exceptional human experiences.
This year, 211 health systems and 46 health plans across the United States are being recognized with the following awards:
- The Pinnacle of Excellence Award® is the highest distinction among the HX Awards, honoring the three highest performing organizations in each award category based on extraordinary achievement. Pinnacle winners have sustained high levels of excellence over a three-year period in patient experience, employee experience, physician engagement, consumer experience, or member experience.
- The Guardian of Excellence Award® celebrates organizations that have consistently reached the top fifth percentile of their respective databases over a one-year period, demonstrating excellence in patient experience, employee experience, physician experience, consumer experience, or clinical quality performance.
- The NDNQI® Award for Outstanding Nursing Quality® recognizes the best-performing hospital for nursing excellence in each of eight categories, including hospitals, healthcare facilities, academic medical centers, and international. The analysis considers 18 quality measures to evaluate scores by unit type, develops a standardized score for each unit, and combines scores across the units to produce an overall score.
- The HX SSER® Reduction Award celebrates organizations who have achieved a dramatic 50% or greater reduction in system-level Serious Safety Event Rate (SSER) in the given time period, along with strong safety culture perception and healthy trend reporting.
- The HX Zero Harm Award recognizes organizations with member facilities who have gone one year in the given time period without a Serious Safety Event.

HX Award Categories
- Clinical Quality: Highlights facilities achieving top clinical quality performance in acute care inpatient facilities, behavioral health inpatient facilities, and hospital electronic measures.
- Employee and Physician Experience: Honors organizations with highly engaged physicians and overall workforce, based on annual employee census survey results.
- Consumer Experience: Celebrates organizations with a strong public reputation based on key factors like third-party ratings that reflect how healthcare consumers find and choose providers.
- Patient Experience: Recognizes organizations that demonstrate unwavering commitment to listening, responding, and improving the experience of those they serve, determined by key measures in the Press Ganey patient experience or CAHPS survey.
- Member Experience: Recognizes top health plans that are excelling in member experience, determined by key CAHPS measures, including members’ access and overall rating of care.
