Press Ganey, the leader in experience measurement, analytics, and strategic advisory services for health systems and health plans, is proud to announce that its Chief Safety and Transformation Officer Tejal Gandhi, MD, was recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of its 132 Patient Safety Experts to Know for 2025.
This award recognizes champions for patient harm reduction, disease management and disaster preparedness. Representing various roles across hospitals, health systems and healthcare companies, they all share a common goal of keeping patients safe. Of the 132 leaders recognized, the majority—over 80%—are affiliated with Press Ganey client health systems and companies.
Dr. Gandhi leads Press Ganey’s work to integrate patient safety, experience and workforce engagement data through cutting-edge tools like the High-Reliability Platform and the Patient Safety Organization, the largest of its kind in the country. She has helped embed an equity lens into all Press Ganey offerings, enabling clients to identify disparities in care and make measurable improvements.
In her recent paper, “Patient Engagement in Safety: Are We There Yet?” published by the Joint Commission Journal in June 2025, Dr. Gandhi advocated for strategies that incorporate patient experiences and perceptions of physical and emotional safety into patient safety improvement efforts. She is a nationally recognized leader, and has authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles, with a focus on how technology can improve patient safety, and has served on key national committees, including the Technical Expert Panel for the CMS Patient Safety Structural Measure.
It’s a privilege to be recognized for work that is deeply personal to me. Patient safety is no longer just about preventing harm in the moment, it’s about creating systems that anticipate risks, close equity gaps, and build lasting trust with patients and families. At Press Ganey, we’re focused on helping health systems integrate safety, experience, and workforce engagement so they can deliver care that is not only safer, but also more equitable and compassionate. I’m excited to continue advancing new approaches that strengthen both outcomes and confidence in our healthcare system for years to come.
Tejal Gandhi, MD
Chief Safety and Transformation Officer,
