Safety Event Classification and Serious Safety Event Rate eLearning Program

Added on Nov 1, 2019

The Safety Event Classification® (SEC®) and Serious Safety Event Rate® (SSER®) eLearning Program is an interactive, multicourse curriculum that outlines how Press Ganey HPI’s SEC methodology categorizes the severity of harm events that result when caregivers deviate from generally-accepted performance standards. SEC serves as the foundation for calculating an organization’s SSER, the volume-adjusted measure of events resulting in moderate to severe harm, including death.

The curriculum is led by industry thought leader Craig Clapper, Press Ganey’s Transformational Services Partner and one of the authors of Zero Harm: How to Achieve Patient and Workforce Safety in Healthcare
