| 2017 AWARDS


During opening remarks, Press Ganey president Joe Greskoviak honored the incredible dedication and success of the 2017 recipients of its Pinnacle of Excellence, NDNQI®, Success Story and Guardian of Excellence awards, recognizing in total over 200 organizations for their superior performance in consistently delivering exceptional patient care. Press Ganey chief medical officer and president of Strategic Consulting Dr. James Merlino announced our first Pediatric Excellence Award to Novel Interventions in Children’s Healthcare, a collaborative between the OHSU Institute on Development & Disability, Department of Pediatrics and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. This program displayed excellence in the engagement and dedication of team members as means of providing transformative, patient and family-centered care in the pediatric care setting. We also announced the inaugural Press Ganey Team of the Year Award to The National Jewish Health Comprehensive Respiratory Care Clinic. Based in Denver, Colo., this team demonstrated outstanding care coordination and teamwork in pursuit of delivering safe, high-quality, compassionate care to their patients.
In addition to these awards, we presented the 3rd annual Physician of the Year Award to Dr. Rana L.A. Awdish, care experience medical director at Henry Ford Health System. This award is given to a physician who shows exceptional leadership and who has realized tangible success improving the delivery and experience of compassionate, connected care and reducing patient and caregiver suffering
Press Ganey CNO Christy Dempsey announced our final winner, naming Dawn Brown, MS-MAS, RN, of UT Southwestern University Hospitals the 2017 Nurse of the Year Award winner, highlighting Dawn’s outstanding care innovation and support in providing an exceptional patient experience.
