What it is

Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) is a quality reporting program that uses negative payment adjustments to promote reporting of quality information by individual eligible professionals (EPs) and medical groups.

Press Ganey is a CMS-certified vendor to administer the 2016–2017 CAHPS for PQRS Survey. The PQRS CAHPS administration begins in November 2016 and will continue through February 2017 for mandatory and voluntary participants.

The PQRS CAHPS program will transition to Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) CAHPS in 2017. CMS proposes to use the PQRS CAHPS survey in the MIPS program, but will refer to the survey as the MIPS CAHPS survey. As part of the 2015 Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA), the proposed rule merges major features of the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS), Electronic Health Record Meaningful Use (EHR MU), and Value Based Payment Modifier (VBPM) program requirements into a new payment incentive program called the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). The rule is anticipated to be finalized in November 2016.

With more CAHPS® experience and expertise than any other survey provider, Press Ganey can help your medical practice meet PQRS CAHPS regulatory reporting requirements. To drive performance improvement in overall care and coordination, an ongoing survey approach prepares practices to score higher on the annual PQRS CAHPS survey requirement, and mitigate the risk of reimbursement cuts. In addition, Press Ganey offers tools to help you measure on-going patient experience in the medical practice.

Through deeper data, robust measurement, proven improvement resources and expert advisory services, Press Ganey helps medical practices seeking to achieve greater improvements in their performance. Press Ganey solutions reveal opportunities for improvement that can lead to enhanced patient perceptions, increased loyalty, positive word-of-mouth and ultimately, increased market share.
