Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems Hospital Survey - Child Version (Child HCAHPS) is a survey to measure parent or guardian reports of their family’s experience of their child’s inpatient care. It was developed to be used nationally by payers (public and private), providers and consumers for public reporting, quality management and tracking purposes. The Agency for Health Care Research and Quality (AHRQ) released a final Child HCAHPS survey in October 2014. The final survey includes 62 questions that cover 18 measures of the patient experience. At this time the Child HCAHPS initiative is not required by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), however Press Ganey anticipates they will encourage states to collect Child HCAHPS data.
Press Ganey is dedicated to its partnership with pediatric care providers and has developed a Child HCAHPS surveying solution to meet the growing need to prepare for any Child HCAHPS data collection program. The Press Ganey Child HCAHPS solution is focused on continuous measurement and can help children’s hospitals prepare and potentially score higher on the future Child HCAHPS survey if and when it is implemented in your state. By starting now, hospitals gain insights to address any deficiencies early, placing them in a strong position to perform better when the official Child HCAHPS survey is implemented.
As the largest CAHPS administrator in the country, Press Ganey will bring our rigor and expertise to making sure your hospital is prepared for all regulatory requirements and help you interpret your results to improve and deliver better service and care to your patients.
