Quality PerformerSM – Behavioral
Health Measures

CMS’s Inpatient Psychiatric Facility Prospective Payment System (IPF PPS) final rule for 2013 requires reporting for cases as of Oct. 1, 2012 – earlier than previously anticipated. The rule includes the initiation of the Inpatient Psychiatric Facilities Quality Reporting Program (IPFQR) for freestanding psychiatric care facilities and acute care facilities with psychiatric inpatient programs that bill under the IPF PPS. Fourth quarter 2012 data and first quarter 2013 data must be reported via QNet by Aug. 15, 2013. The financial impact is 2% of a facility’s Annual Payment Update. Are you ready?

With more than 15 years’ experience working with more than 250 psychiatric facilities to meet their performance measurement needs, Press Ganey has a deep understanding of the unique goals and challenges facing these specialty providers. This understanding is reflected in Quality Performer – Behavioral Health Measures. This comprehensive solution comprises online data collection, reporting and analysis, and provides a robust set of tools enabling inpatient psychiatric providers to collect data for The Joint Commission’s core measures initiative for Hospital-Based Inpatient Psychiatric Services (HBIPS).

The Quality Performer – Behavioral Health Measures base package includes user-friendly data collection software, training, support from a dedicated Quality Performance Manager, comparative reports and a comprehensive set of data management tools. Subsequent tiers (Plus and Premium) include measure- and clinician-level analysis, custom query abilities and advanced comparative reporting.

Monitor More Than Core Measures

Press Ganey also offers hospitals the ability to collect data on our widely adopted proprietary psychiatric care indicators (available for adult and adolescent populations). Each domain of measurement includes overall measures that examine a broad population as well as sub-measures that offer more granularity. Example measures include:

  • Injurious behaviors.
  • Physical restraint use.
  • Patient falls.
  • Unplanned departures.
  • Transfers to inpatient acute care.
  • Readmissions.
  • Seclusion events.
  • Partial hospitalization.
  • Residential treatment center measures.
