Christina (Christy) Dempsey is the Chief Nursing Officer for Press Ganey Associates, Inc. and is responsible for providing clinical guidance to help clients transform the patient and caregiver experience with Compassionate Connected Care ™. Christy is a registered nurse with over three decades of healthcare experience regularly speaking and publishing nationally and internationally on nursing, perioperative and emergency services management, medical practice, supply chain and materials management, and physician/hospital collaboration. She serves as faculty for the Missouri State University Dept. of Nursing and holds master’s degrees in both business and nursing and certifications in both perioperative nursing and executive nursing practice. She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing. Her book, The Antidote to Suffering: How Compassionate Connected Care Can Improve Safety, Quality, and Experience, was released on November 3, 2017.

​Mary Jo Assi is responsible for leading strategies to improve the health care practice and work environment, strengthen caregiver resilience and engagement and deliver compassionate, connected care. During her 35-year career in nursing, Assi has led several groundbreaking nursing initiatives at the national level, including the creation and launch of the American Nurses Association’s Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation Grand Challenge, a social movement aimed at improving the health of the nation’s 3.6 million nurses. She holds a doctoral degree in nursing practice from George Washington University, and is a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing.

Prior to joining Press Ganey in 2016, Ann led her own health care consulting practice, partnering with health care providers to improve organizational performance through educational and idea-exchange programs for frontline staff and health care executives. Previously, she worked as Director of Commissioning for the Kensington & Chelsea Primary Care Trust of National Health Service in London.  ​Emily Cramer is a Research Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of Kansas Medical Center and Co-Principal Investigator for research and development of NDNQI. She has led survey and indicator development projects for NDNQI, and published and presented research on topics including the relationship between the nursing work environment and patient outcomes and the impact of nursing specialty certification on patient outcomes. She holds a doctoral degree in quantitative psychology from the University of Kansas.

Ronald Shorr is the Director of Geriatrics Research, Education and Clinical Center at the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System and a Research Professor of Epidemiology at the University of Florida. He received his MD from Ohio State University and completed training in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at the University of Wisconsin and the William S. Middleton VA medical center. Dr. Shorr has extensive experience conducting both observational and experimental studies on healthcare safety and quality, particularly in older adult populations. He is the recipient of a current HSR&D Merit, an NIA Clinical Investigator Award, and has been PI and Co-Investigator on several NIH funded studies on fall prevention in hospitalized patients. He has completed a master’s degree in Epidemiology at Case Western Reserve University and a postdoctoral fellowship in pharmacoepidemiology at Vanderbilt University.
